Review of Pieces
By Aggie

Erik Hassle was born August 26, 1988 in Katrineholm in Sweden. He is a Swedish singer and composer. He is based in London and wanted to be a pro-footballer. Hassle attended the musical upper secondary school Rytmus in Stockholm. In 2008 he signed a Swedish record contract with Roxy Recordings, and in 2009 he signed an international record contract with Island Records and Universal Republic. Hassle's first single, "Hurtful", charted on the Swedish single list. He has been written up as a hot new act in The Guardian and other major newspapers, and the 19th of January 2010 he was awarded the prize for "Newcomer of the Year 2009" at the P3 Guld gala.

Erik Hassle’s debate album “Pieces” is one for the collections. It features amazing songs that are miles away from some the general pop music today. The songs vary from being deep and meaningful like “don’t bring me flowers” which is one of my favourites to the soft playful nature of “Isn’t it Obvious” which portrays the feeling of love and romance in an idyllic way. The album was extremely enjoyable to listen to and I would definitely recommend buying it.

I look forward to hearing more his music in the future and can guarantee that there is more to come from this artist. The range of enjoyable music in this album assures me that he is extremely more than a one hit wonder. I would compare Erik Hassle to the likes of Will young with the more contemporary sounds of James Morrison and the deep soulful voice of Daniel Merriweather. Altogether I loved the album and would give it 5 out of 5.
